I remember when my dear friend Natalie Suite and I chatted about her writing the travel stories for our blog about 3-and-a- half-years ago. At the time, she was living in Peru about to head to Paris with her toddler and partner, Mikele. Both of us did not know much about travel blogging but what I did know was that for all the years that I’ve been Natalie’s friend (over two decades), she has been filled with a sense of adventure and if anyone could tell a travel tale and inspire people to pack their bags and go places, it would be her.
Three-and-a-half-years and hundreds of stories later, I believe Natalie (storyteller and photographer) and I (editor and content creator) should never have doubted ourselves. Well maybe we could have, I’m just glad we kicked our fears to the curb.
Each time we get an email or message or someone pops into my DM saying the travel stories on our blog made a difference in their lives or inspired them to save for a plane ticket, or visit someone who has been asking them to for a long time, we feel both humbled and honoured.
Today, Natalie is in Kenya and remember that toddler I spoke about? Well, here she is in the photo doing a school visit, absorbing a culture from a land so far away from her own, with other little girls and boys who seem just like her in their enthusiasm to make merry and in the process form bonds if only for that second
It is our hope to show you through our stories that all over the world, we are more the same than we are different. I am grateful for Natalie for reflecting that to us.
