Friends, what a day! Facebook was down—-checks watch—- for a whole seven hours
By this time tomorrow, we, along with the rest world, will fully understand how Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook puts public interest at the altar of profit. Who else thinks that whistle-blowers are brave and courageous souls?
Anyway, you might be thinking: “Whoa, Judette all that has nothing to do with me. Let me stick my neck down in my small business, oui!
BUT IT HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH YOU!
Since Jan, Facebook’s stock has fallen by 13 %, last month IG deferred a rollout to one of its most profitable audiences (tweens), and tomorrow, there is sure to be talk about deregulation.
So, I want to tell you something that I have said to you since you joined this platform as a subscriber. >> DO NOT BUILD YOUR BUSINESS ON BORROWED LAND.<<
You build it today, it’s gone tomorrow. So diversify.
Facebook Was Down But Business Was Usual
Today, it was business as usual for me and I was grateful!
I learned a long time ago to build and hook an ideal audience with great content on Facebook and other social media platforms but to move that audience quickly from those platforms onto the ones I own i.e my email list, my blog, my website.
I have an ever-growing email list that can’t be touched by updates, outages & FB stock falling, and I’ve got the receipts to prove it.
My website has 5 different ways to get me leads every single day.
I could have used my email list today to run my 30 Days Of Content campaign if needed….
The point is this…
My business and digital assets are diversified.
And yours should be too!
This is important. My business is social media-loving and social media proof because I’ve been intentional about its direction and for it to be algorithm-proof. If you are a Simplify member now is a good time to go over the 5-month course that I just concluded. I have given you everything you need to know about social proofing.
The workbooks teach you how to build a successful email platform and if that is not enough, my Content Bar will be launched on October 15th with even more How-Tos
Allow today to be a teachable moment. It’s exactly what your mom always told you….don’t put all your eggs in one basket. In many ways, what you do now is more important than the pivot you made in 2020.
