On Friday, I sent out an email about being stuck in a creative entrepreneurial rut. Afterwards, I got 15 emails in my Inbox essentially saying the same thing.
>>> It’s not the creativity Judette, it’s how do I make money after I pivot? <<<
- Should I build multiple streams of income all at once?
- What’s the first thing to do after I’ve created my website?
- What should I do if I don’t have money for Facebook and Google ads?
- Where do I even begin?
- I feel overwhelmed!
Ok, first things first, at the end of February, I’m holding an all-day Mastermind to give you clarity and get you back to basics. My aim is to help you see how you can generate impact and income after you’ve pivoted.
I’ll be giving you my all, a day full of action-packed content, exercises, and learning that happens in real-time.
But until then, can I tell you something? Lean in.
1. GET GOOD WITH EMAIL MARKETING
Email marketing is not dead, you’ve been doing it the wrong way. Trust me, I’ve been in the trenches for 15 years and only recently nailed the science behind it.
- You have to build your email list with your ***ideal clients***
- Email your subscribers at least 2 times per week
- Continue to give them value, big, audacious value
- Create a lead magnet and build a funnel
- Treat your email list like gold.
You can do all of this without spending a ton of money on ads (again, I learned this the very hard way)
But first, a mind shift change because you have to know that you can do this! Everything I’m telling you is doable.
2. STOP SAYING YOU CAN’T… Your MarKeTIng Will Suffer
Look, you have limiting beliefs. People’s opinions, heck even our own negative narrative can keep you back. But you must stop!
I don’t know what to write
People will delete if I send them an e-mail
Email marketing did not work before and it won’t work now
I’m not very good at writing
All of these reasons are just excuses, in my opinion, because once you know that your email list can help you grow your community and build a consistent sales stream, then all of it become “figureoutable,” as Marie Forleo says.
3. GET COMFORTABLE WITH SELLING
You pivoted online so now you have to sell. Sometimes that can feel yucky and gimmicky or not like you. Hey, that’s only because you have never done it before.
But the whole world has moved online so the main thing is to get over yourself.
You have to push past your shyness, your resistance to doing things differently, your lack of knowledge and work to make sure your offer is a good one. Ensure that you are helping people see themselves in the future as they get to their destination easier and faster by overcoming whatever problem/issue/challenge they are facing.
No, you don’t have to spam your list every day selling something.
However, *** if you keep adding 200-300 subscribers to your list each month *** and give them value by way of your email list, you will build trust. Your offer will be respected and bought once it is exactly what your ideal audience needs.
4. WORK SMART AND AUTOMATE
Naturally, you can’t do anything I’ve described above without a good content marketing plan. The goal is to have your offer, work on your content marketing plan and keep tweaking your lead magnet once you get customer feedback.
Most people think the answer to making revenue online is to do more work.
This is the farthest thing from the truth. It’s about having an ideal audience, a solid content plan and an in-your-face content marketing schedule. Then you have to put the beast on repeat.
So every day ask yourself if….
– What are you doing to build your ideal customer email list
– How often are you showing up to add value
-Is your offer good enough?
These are the three most important things to be focusing on after you’ve moved your business online.
Everything else comes after
