10 Habits I’m Giving Up
1. Making rash decisions based on emotions
Because riding out my emotions and not acting on anything while feeling tremendous joy or experiencing sadness promotes a kind of level-headedness and clarity I’m seeking in 2019.
Those who complain all the time, have a problem for every solution and speak poorly about others. To be honest, I'm not giving this up, I'm maintaining this discipline I set years ago.
3. Working late into the night
Instead, I'm waking up 3 hours earlier as I no longer want to be an owl and a lark.
Who am I kidding? I've never liked them, I don't wear the ones I have, I'm leggings all the way.
5. Cluttered bedroom
My new home has a huge walk-in closet which means I have no excuse for piles of clothes on the bed. Well, no real reason.
6. The Need To Be Constantly On
The best inspiration and my most creative thoughts come when I carve time out to be silent and away from social media.
7. Agave Syrup
Turns out it is high in fructose and what is sold is oftentimes made by treating agave sugars with heat and enzymes, which destroys all its potentially beneficial health effects. The end product is a highly refined, unhealthy syrup. Might as well use sugar. Yikes!
On a continued path with this one and so far so good.
Because scenarios that don’t exist muddle the brain, and clarity and specificity is definitely easier.
10. 5 -inch heels
Well just by an inch. Does that count?
10 Habits I’m Keeping
1. Nighttime Facial Massages
5-15 minutes every night is one of the best skin routines in the planet. I swear.
2. Bullshit spotting
I’ve long honed my radar for this. It keeps me protected from energy vampires.
3. Eating Fish
I don't eat butter, cheese, eggs or any meat but adding fish (Alaskan salmon only) to my diet twice a week made me curb the effects a protein deficiency I was experiencing.
4. YouTube Exercise Classes
Because not being able to get to the gym should not be an excuse when I have internet access and space in my living room.
My world is always better with more of it in it.
This is my secret sauce. It was served up with my DNA when I was born. It’s what makes me see the world with endless possibilities and little limitations.
Not just literary fiction but spy thrillers, romance novels, biographies; any book that tells a good story.
8. Vegan Protein Shakes
With the right fruits and greens it's the ultimate power drink (I have 2 between 5:00 and 11 am ) that can take me straight through to lunch.
9. Forward Forty
Building a community of kickass women and learning from them fulfills me in ways I could not have imagined.
10. Self Love
Because when I look in the mirror the only image I'd like to see is a face that reflects acceptance, empathy and grace.
