
Sharon Christopher is a renowned Caribbean corporate executive, attorney and speaker in women’s issues, corporate governance, financial and legal matters. She is also an arts and culture enthusiast, philanthropist, mother and very soon, author. For many years she was the only female executive on the team which successfully led the merger of three indigenous commercial banks in Trinidad and Tobago during a testy economic downturn, to become a Caribbean financial powerhouse 23 years later. She is currently Deputy Chief Executive Officer – Operations and Administration of the First Citizens Group. However she will be leaving the Group on August 22, 2016 and starting a new career in coaching women in leadership.
Sharon is committed to public service by lifting the status of women through developmental endeavours. She was one of the first to revolutionize the Caribbean landscape by mounting annual national women’s conferences which to date, consistently receive ‘standing room only’ participation.
She has served and continues to serve on numerous private and public sector boards which all have impact on the social, economic and energy Caribbean agendas. In addition she currently serves as Chairman of the Gender Advisory Board of the Institute for Gender Development Studies at the University of the West Indies. Considered a Caribbean thought leader, Sharon is regularly featured in and quoted by the media across the Caribbean. She is President of the International Women’s Forum (IWF) Trinidad and Tobago Chapter since September 2014.
She has recently been nominated to sit on the International Board of IWF. Sharon is also the host of the television series “Conversations with Women in Leadership.”
