Any overseas trip where the time is as tight as the budget takes weeks and weeks of conceptualising, working through locations and understanding what stories we should and can tell.
It’s a ton of work as you can expect, but it’s also quite fun especially the part where I have to select what I pack. For this trip, I thought I’d share what I brought with me to NYC, you can see more in the video but these are my top three picks as far as it came to street fashion.
YELLOW ON YELLOW
Yellow takes me to my happy place, it’s like the promise of sunshine in a garment. In this look, I kept the vibe entirely monochromatic, pairing my sleeveless top with a culotte in the same tone. The navy blue cross body bag acted as the right pop of colour and balanced the vibrancy of the yellow. Neutral pumps toned down the look several notches while adding a bit of chic at the same time.
The pajama look is everything: comfortable, easy on the body and effortlessly sexy. In this look, I wore my PJs as a full outfit but I could also have worn it as separates with matching or contrasting prints and solids. I’m a huge fangirl of this outfit’s ease (anyone else cheers for the elastic waist pants) and the fact that I can pair the pants with a different jacket, swap the long pants for shorts, add a white inner T-shirt or wear it with high heels, sneakers for comfort or embroidered flats for a full out fashion statement. If you head to any major city for a visit, the PJ look will give you mojo versatility.
