Take Breaks

Today I decided to take break from work!

You see one of the benefits of owning my own business is that sometimes I get to __________ (step away from the computer and shoot the breeze/ stop and exercise/ meditate.) in the middle of the work day, which is what I did today.

Don’t get me wrong, most days are spent __________ (answering emails/on client calls/etc.), but the freedom of being an entrepreneur means that my work days don’t have to look the same!

What do you love about what you do?

Doing Well In My Business and Building Empathy

Is there a part of you that feels guilty because you’re doing well with your small business?

I feel that with the world crumbling all around us, and with our economy so shaky and so many people out of jobs, I shouldn’t feel joyful because I have ______(work/ contracts/ clients who are giving me repeat work).

But I’ve realized being happy with _________(who I am / how I am going in business _______(fuels me / makes me realize how much years I’ve put into the foundation of building loyal customers/ makes me happy that I pivoted successfully).

Being unhappy in solidarity only brings negative energy and helps no one. What matters is _______ (how I help others / understanding pain and having empathy).

I know this to be true; you can feel happy for yourself but frustrated with the direction of the world. And you can still do what you can in the tiny space you occupy to reach out and help!

My Well-being Mantra

My mantra lately has been (to look after my physical well-being, get stronger as I get older, stretch every single day, get in a sweat every other day).

If you’ve been around for a while you know I like setting goals, and I don’t just want to do it (for my small business. for others, just to check it off a list)

I like knowing my end goal. Taking the next step, doing one more movement and breathing in the joy of taking care of me.

How about you? What’s your relationship been with self-care these days?
