4. Permission granted

As a small business owner, what I’ve come to know is that you’re allowed to___( analyse how you want to grow/ who’s on your team/ what you want for your future/ and patterns you want to break…today.

Right now. Anytime.

Don’t wait for the shake-up to shake things up in your small business. Change can happen on a normal ___(Monday/ Wednesday/ Sunday etc).

3. Confidence In Myself

Sometime ago I was asked to (give a guest lecture on a very big stage/ do a shoot for the local newspapers/ be interviewed on live TV)

I immediately started drafting an email saying NO, because even though I had (spoken to many small audiences before/ gone through media training/ made You Tube videos) I still, at that moment, didn’t know if I could do it.

But after some thought, I realised ___( that if we show up in our insecurity or in our fear/ refuse opportunities/ listen to a;; the negative in our heads) the people we need to reach will never know our ___( strength/power/ messages) )

We don’t let ourselves trust that our practice work is enough to carry us through the scary moments ( in front of people we don’t know/ in a space we do not command ) or yes, even on display in a newspaper.

Confidence in ourselves and occupying places we aren’t used to isn’t just about constant positivity.

It’s choosing moment to moment to make small choices to show our work and be seen.

2. What Matters Most

I know many people (are still thinking about New Year’s resolutions/ made lists of all they accomplished in -state year- / are moving into -state year- full steam ahead)

But the main thing I was proud of was growing (a beautiful, exciting collaboration/growing my business/ making lots of new friends, and deepening existing relationships.)

I don’t know how many milestones I hit last year but I know___( how I opened myself up to new opportunities despite being shy/ how profitable it was to take the risks I did/ how loved I felt and how many people I loved back.

Metrics do matter not only because of the goals you check off and how much $$$$ you make as a small business owner but also (how you grew in the process/ the love you got from people who believed in you and made you believe in yourself.)

It’s always personal growth for me.

1. Decluttering My Life

A few months ago I was ___ (trying to find an important document in my office/ to get ready for dinner ready/ etc) and I realised, there I have so much stuff I never use/wear. No wonder ___( it takes me hours to find something/ having a personal style is difficult for me. etc)
To be honest___(my office feels like a dumping ground where old documents are buried /my closet was jam packed with one off items with little cohesion.) Nothing about my space made me happy.
So the past few weeks, I’ve been on an/a (office declutter up / style journey)____ (getting rid of what doesn’t make sense and redoing my files/ sorting out the classic garments/ making room for what makes me feel put together everyday etc)
My brain feels so much clearer (opening up my office and heading to my cabinets/walking up to my closet doors every morning). It all just clicked. I want to be more mindful about how ____(I organise my small business/ how I put myself together/).
I think we all need to declutter, and rethink the way we store or even shop. It’s such an intentional way to connect to ourselves.
I would love to share more about this declutter journey. Would you be interested?
