How Did You End Up Here?

I got a message yesterday from someone I mentor who trying to figure out her next steps in life.

I got to thinking about how much we plan for something and then it turns out being exactly how we thought it would be, but more often than not the plan is diverted and we end up doing something totally different.

I am not a fan of this but I am learning to live with it.

So I want to know, what was one thing you planned for and it ended up being the exact opposite? It could be a job, the person you’re with, your career path, university, anything.

These threads are always so fun to read, I love learning about everyone here

Okay, I’ll start________ (insert your path that ended up being different from where you began or originally thought of)

When Was The last Time You Said No?

When was the last time you said no and did not feel _____ (bad about it, guilty, that you were doing something wrong).

I’m just saying, No is a positive affirmation in and of itself.

It’s a recognition that (you’re tired, that your time is better placed elsewhere, that you don’t have the bandwidth to deal with any extras right now.)

So go ahead and say NO, wont ya!

No need to explain.

No need to ask for validation.

No need to feel badly and sugar coat things

I feel as women we often feel the need to go beyond the “no” because it might seem (impolite, harsh, or heaven forbid “bitchy”)

When was the last time you said NO, without guilt?

Tag A Woman

Like Maya Angelou said: ”I love to see ‘a woman’ go out and grab the world by its lapels. Life is a bitch. You’ve got to go out and kick ass.”

If you think Ms. Angelou _____ (rocked this quote/ spoke truth to power/ was spot on) go ahead and tag a woman who inspires you with her work.

I want this thread to be one that ____ (whispers cheers, gives support, shouts out praise) to the women we admire the most. BTW, from my own neck of the woods I am so proud to be a part of your community and have you as part of mine too.
